No matter what kind of Coaching you practice, to truly serve others in your role, you need to be at your best. Coaches are said to “Walk the Talk” meaning, we serve as a role model for our clients in how to live life to its fullest and resiliently. In coaching since 2001, I’ve learned, this is a tall order! Something that most coaches will ponder “how to” and wrestle with in private hoping to somehow secretly find a way to be the role model they hope to be for their clients, patients, and families.
For years, so many coaches have shared their secret shame with me about this so I began praying and brainstorming ways to help fulfil this need. I, for one feel super confident at helping another person create a vision of their ideal well-self and to set and achieve goals. However to do this for me; I learned the hard way that I needed help…a coach…a tool…a process. This is one of the many reasons why most coaches, have a coach. Even though I’m a Board Certified and expert Wellness Coach, I found myself feeling inauthentic and even embarrassed at my attempt to be a role model for wellness.
The e-book, Resilience for Coaches is about building resilience in your life to help you gain freedom and pride in your ability to be that role model with happiness and confidence. It is about having ah-ha moments that influence your smart choices and lead to noticeable improvements that can absolutely improve your role modeling self-efficacy. Applying the concepts of Resilience, I’ve learned a process to self-coach. I combine these practices with ongoing work as a client of a Wellness Coaching process and I was able to lose over 45 lbs. keeping it off for over a decade (and counting). In my journey, I learned that there is so much more to maintaining my wellness than just diet and exercise.
By building the foundation of a resilient lifestyle, I am able to authentically serve others in my role as a coach at my peak potential. I feel that I’ve become a better mom and friend too. Even though it’s a journey, not a destination, I’m a happier, healthier individual living with pride about my ability to BE the role model that I truly want to be in my role as a Coach. I created Resilience for Coaches to serve coaches who struggle meeting the tall order and so they too can happily move through this challenging journey.
Resilience for Coaches helps you live with a smile on your face, peace in your heart, and pride in your personal health and wellness practices.
